The pool stage just got bigger
For Men's Rugby World Cup Australia 2027, the tournament kicks off with six pools of four teams each. From there, the top two teams in every pool will secure their spot in the Round of 16. But that's not all - the four best third-placed teams will also advance.
How are these four decided? First, it's all about competition points. If teams are still neck and neck, the points difference and try difference will be the next factors used respectively to determine which teams make it our of the pool stage. Every point matters, every try counts - so expect action right to the final whistle.
